Tarot Decks to be excited about in 2020

Here the tarot new release decks I am excited to get my hands on this year! From Edgar Allan Poe to Golden Girls Decks coming, there is something for everyone!

As a tarot collector, I am constantly looking for new tarot decks to buy.  While I enjoy decks associated to the traditional Rider Waite methodology, anything that has beautiful artwork and conveys a message that I relate to or can guess from the artwork gets my attention.  I have around 13 decks currently on my shelf, but I am always looking to expand.  I don't really sit down and use my decks for reading, I more enjoy sitting and reading the guide books and appreciating the artwork.  Sometimes my friends and I will do some fun readings together so I do not class myself as a Tarot reader - in fact I am still learning a lot of the meanings.  It doesn't stop me from collecting though!  There is a superstition out there that you can't buy your own deck and it has to be gifted to you.  This is silly.  If I went by this superstition, I wouldn't even have single deck.  I buy them all myself and if I see one I think a friend may like, I will gift them one.  The moral of the story is, if you want it, go buy it!  With this in mind, I have been doing a lot of research and wanted to share with you the Tarot & Oracle decks I will be buying this year!

Edgar Allan Poe Tarot by Rose Wright & Eugene Smith

Blending the divinatory power of the Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot with the visionary writings of Edgar Allan Poe, this deck provides deep spiritual insights into who you are and what you might become. Stunning art based on Poe's tales of the mysterious and the macabre illuminates the imagination and opens the soul to fantastical realms of spirit.

I mean the name pretty much says it all doesn't it?  I don't think I need to explain this one too much.  I love a bit of Poe, I love his work, the artwork looks amazing and it is all being converted into a tarot deck.  What more could I ask for?  Unfortunately we have to wait until September 8th 2020 for this one to hit!

The Golden Girls Tarot Cards: A Look into Your Future From the Lanai by Chantel de Sousa

Who could you trust more with your future than Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia? The four leading ladies of TV's enduring sitcom The Golden Girls?

Printed on high-quality card material and packaged in a conveniently unbendable box, this one-of-a-kind tarot deck celebrates the enduring legacy of the classic TV show The Golden Girls. More than thirty years after it first aired, the show retains a steadily growing cult following. The Golden Girls ran for seven seasons (collecting a staggering fifty-eight Emmy nominations and eleven wins along the way), and over the years, this hit comedy about four fierce and sassy ladies sharing a house in Miami charmed millions of viewers with its wit and verve, and most of all, the strength and quality of the friendship between its four iconic characters.

The Golden Girls Tarot Cards are based on the simple structure of the classic Rider-Waite tarot deck--Dorothy, Rose, Blanche, and Sophia are each given their own suit. This deck also comes with some basic (and Golden Girls-centric) instructions on how to kick-start your career in tarot reading. And hey: if your future, as ordained by these cards, ain't looking so bright--just turn on one of your favorite episodes of The Golden Girls to whittle away the time with everybody's favorite foursome.

Thankyou for being a friend!  Who didn't like the Golden Girls?  I really feel like this deck will be a lot of fun. Just seeing the image above of Dorothy looking out the window with a worried look in her face with swords stuck in the photo of her husband Stanley who left her for a younger woman (Yes I watched a lot of Golden Girls).  The 10 of swords traditionally means betrayal and backstabbing and signifies severing ties, ending relationships etc.  It is represented here perfectly in meaning as well as in relation to the storyline of the show itself  This deck is available from the 5th of May 2020 and I think is a must have for any Golden Girls fan!

While I have only seen the cover and brief description, I already feel that I want this deck.  Picking a deck is very hard and personal.  As you use your intuition to read tarot, it makes sense to use your intuition ot pick a deck using this as well.  If you feel a connection or feel that you have to have a deck then it is for you!  That is what I feel with this deck.  Available on the 1st of April 2020, I won't have to wait too long to get a sneak peak at the artwork.

As a woman, I am into lifting each other up as well as empowerment.  Self care is something I am still learning.  We could all use a bit of guidance in that area and I feel like this is going to be a great inspirational deck!  The artwork has a great vibe as well I connect to.  Kind of reminds me a little of Teen Witch if I am being honest!  (Is that showing my age) . This is available June 30th 2020

Hush Tarot by by Jeremy Hush

Hush Tarot beckons readers to explore an alluring world where animal and human spirits are unified, and even the smallest creatures like ravens and hares have great significance. At times, they appear lost in the weeds but there is always a hidden clue guiding them to the way out. The fascinating characters and landscapes are illustrated with lush detail inspired by a 19th century aesthetic that explores natural forms in various states of life and decay. Hush Tarot offers a shift in perspective that reveals profound answers to life's mysteries.

I am not sure what it is about this deck as I haven't seen any artwork from the actual cards, but the cover is drawing me in.  It also sounds really interesting in the way it ties in animal spirits as a guide.  This deck was released at the beginning of January and one I plan to add to my collection this year.

So I guess I have a lot of saving to do!  I cannot wait to get my hands on these decks.  I also have a few other decks that have been released over the years that I gradually find and add to my collection as well so it will be forever growing.  I do however have one item to add to a potential tarot wishlist:

She can lift a horse etsy store

This isn't a tarot deck as such but an amazing artist I wanted to highlight.  She has her own etsy store and creates images crossing over our favourtie characters into tarot prints.  While they are not designed to be used for actual reading, many of us hope one day she will take the step to producing a full deck.  In the mean time, have a look at her amazing work and order some prints for your wall!  The lovers with Morticia and Gomez Addams is a favourite of mine!

So these are my 'I want to buy' decks for 2020 so far!  I would love to hear yours!  Are there any decks you are looking forward to or have purchased recently?

* I have not been paid or offered free merchandise to promote these decks.  These are literally just the decks I am going to buy this year!
